The Chinesse Fortune Cookie

I had a long Saturday today. Been all day stuck in the office, working my little self off to boredom. Seven hours of office job on a Saturday. That alone could kill anyone. But to add to that, then I had a four hour (four!) moving house ‘party’. No, I am not moving houses, but I was helping my sister and her friend. It was van up and van down the city, moving furniture, books, dvds, boxes, clothes… My whole body hurt like mental.

So I thought I deserved a Chinesse take-away. And real nice it was (though I am really full right now). So at the end of the meal, which I had while drinking a pint of Strongbow), I kicked back, relaxed, and opened my Chinesse Fortune Cookie. And that’s when it hit me. That cute little message they put inside, your ‘fortune reading’. I couldn’t get one of those ‘Work hard, and prosperity will follow’, or the random ones that say ‘bird with blue wings, will follow prey that is green’ and you never know what they mean. Mine was ‘He who dies with the most toys is nonetheless dead’. Cheers dears!

I think I need another pint of cider. Or two…

See… I heard this story life, so surely I shouldn’t be laughing again… but here I am, back in the library even though uni is over, and still trying to control my laughter so that the very few people near me don’t look at me as if I’m crazy… :)

Cheers for helping me move… You’ll get a dinner invite in the new flat when you’re back from your holidays :)
