Two Edinburgh-Related News

I feel it is my dutie as blogger to keep you informed about pieces of information that I think would be of your interest. In the usual game of ‘bad news / good news’, one of the things is a sad sad situation, the other one is a treat for the eyes… For the eyes of Edinburgh people, and your eyes if I get to take a couple of pictures for the blog. Here’s hoping!

First, though, the bad news. I am terribly sorry to inform you that, our dear Diet-Enduring Work Colleage, is no Diet-Enduring person no more. It’s sad, I know, but he cave in. He just doesn’t have the patience he says. Or the will. Either way, there will be no Thin-Looking married photos. Hello Photoshop! He does say he is appalled at himself. I find myself slightly guilty, I might add, but not to the extend as to stop eating Nutella sandwiches in front of him. Nor Apple Lattice.

As for the second story, it is a very random one, but also quite interesting! There’s this millioonaire property magnate called Paul Dickens that has decided to employ kilt-wearing hunks (ie, hot men… hurray!) to be around George Street in Edinburgh (a big shopping street, very posh, very big) wearing kilts (nothing underneath?) and offering to pay parking charges for the hard-up motorists in the Capital. The initiative started last year, when Mr Dickens got ladies to do the one-day job, but he says that this year he will get men, in order to balance the battle of the sexes… He doesn’t do it for the cash, mind you, mainly since it is him that pays (from his pocket money!) for people to park their car in one of the busiest and most expensive streets in Edinburgh. He says it’s just a bit of fun, to ‘put a simle on the faces of long-suffering city centre drivers’ (his words).  I say it’s a great publicity stunt, and one that should be encouraged more often. Sometimes, something as simple as helping the everyday man/woman with the day to day chores (paying parking, for example), makes the world a little better.

The four hunky men will be walking up and down George Street tomorrow from 9′30am till 6′30pm, so go check them out. I’m sure it will be good eye candy! And I will try to go myself, or send one of my ‘little helpers’ to take some pics. Will try post them asap too! So come back tomorrow night or Friday for some interesting pics!
