A Tesco-Story

As I said very early on in the blog (find the entrance, here), I don’t think this blog should choose sides, or praise some brands while slagging off other ones, so I am going to discuss a supermarket chain, but will not say it’s name, just so we are not biased and stop buying food there. I am just trying to be neutral, and at the end of the day you might like or buy in that supermarket chain, so better be safe than sorry. I mean, we all buy in Tesco at some point right?

I finally got my Tesco-card the other day through the post. I mean the Tesco-points Tesco-card. Know the one? That Tesco-card you get Tesco-points everytime you shop at Tesco. Well, I had been after one of them for years. I kid you not! I applied for one of this Tesco-cards through the Tesco-form you can get at a Tesco store or through the Tesco website, around two years ago, but never got it sent to my house. When I moved flats, I applied again, with another of the Tesco-forms, but they ignored me once again. And at the beginning of the year, while shopping at Tesco, my sister and I got another Tesco-form to apply for the Tesco-card (since I had changed again from flat, and never had gotten the last one), and three months later (ie, today) I got the Tesco-card through. I was over the Tesco-moon! After three Tesco-cardless-months, I finally had a Tesco-card! How tesco-tastic is that!

But hey ho, turns out is not my Tesco-card… With all the tesco-excitement of finally getting my own Tesco-card, it turns out that it is for the precious Tesco-lodgers of my Tesco-flat. Those who Tesco-moved three Tesco-months ago. Tesco-darn I say! So, yes. I do have a Tesco-card. You would think a supermarket chain would want its clients to be happy and would try anything they can to keep them coming to its shops… Alas, no, it’s not for Tesco-me. I’ve resigned to the idea that I am not getting a Tesco-card to my Tesco-name ever… But even though I know this, I also know that, Tesco-months or Tesco-years from Tesco-now, when I move from this Tesco-flat, I will be filling in another Tesco-form to get another Tesco-card. ‘Cos that’s how Tesco-stupid I am.

Dude, your post was of Tesckpirian quality! I needed some cheering up and decided to check out if the stork, the guinea pig or the elephant had written anything new and voila! It was worth the visit :)

PS. Can’t you use the Tesco-card in the other people’s name anyway? Later on when they send you the points/vouchers you could still use them, no?

    or you could get a tesco-additional tesco-card from your tesco-fantastic tesco-sister :)

Both options are indeed possible, and both option will indeed be studied by my team of neurons in charge of all Tesco-related issues. Thank you for your input.
