Happy Birthday!

So, I know this person that used to sleep (when she was really small) in a drawer. She went to her first date (to the cinema, I might add) having to take her little brother with her (much to her dismay). She also endured her brother splashing hand cream all over her face, duvet and table once, when she tried to help him learn some maths/physics (not too sure) and he couldn’t stop playing with the things in her room (mainly that hand cream…). She took care of her brother’s guinea pig when the little fellow needed to get vaccines at the vet (the brother, you see, is scared of needles). She flew to Prague with him for his 26th birthday, and then surprised him flying to Edinburgh for his 27th. She got a Doctorate in Astrophysics while listening to her brother rant about uni, love and dvds, even if the brother didn’t ask her too often how she was getting on with her Thesis. She once got into her dad’s big jacket at the same time as her brother, and although it was ‘just a game’ they ended up crying. See, someone got hurt. She also (maybe in revenge for all her kindness)  duck-taped her brother’s entire body, puked on her brother’s craddle, and made him watch some very random asian films while the brother would try and pop his own eyes out…

And see, this person, who’s birthday was yesterday, is my amazing big sister.

For the record, the jacket story went like this: the bro and sis grabbed their father’s jacket and decided it would be fun to fit both in it at the same time. They got inside and zipped it. Being the jacket huge for the 9 and 4 year olds as it was, it was covering their heads and they couldn’t see much. They heard their father say from the living room “stop it! you’re going to end up crying!”. To this, the kiddos laughed. I mean, they were having fun and she wasn’t going to cry just because she just banged her nose against her brother’s shoulder… That is, not until she saw all the blood on her hand. And that’s when they both started crying (yup, the brother did too out of solidarity). The kiddos never saw their father with a more obvious “told-you-so” face than in that occasion :)
PS. And in exchange for the Asian films, the brother made her see “Urban Legend 2″, “Hannibal”, “I know what you did last summer”… and she still has nightmares because of them :D
PS2. And I’d fly to the Moon with you nito.
